Title number five for Norbert Kiss!

A highly-anticipated meeting for the sport’s many fans, who flock in huge numbers to admire the best European and French drivers display their acrobatic prowess on the world famous track in their high-power machines. In Le Mans, the Hungarian Norbert Kiss proved once again that he is unrivalled in European truck racing. After securing both of the weekend’s pole positions, he started by claiming the opening race, before settling for third place in race two, which was won by Jamie Anderson. His victory in race 3, his nineteenth win this year, enabled him to wrap up his fifth ETRC title, with five races still to go this season. A dominant performance that reflected his unquestioned superiority behind the wheel with Revesz Racing, who also sealed the teams’ title in Le Mans.

The final race of the meeting was won by Luis Recuenco, whilst Kiss finished just outside the podium places. There are now only four races left to go in the 2023 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship and they will all be contested in Jarama, Spain, next weekend. Lastly, it is worth nothing that 24-Hour Truck Race at Le Mans was also host to a round of the French Truck Championship, with Lion Truck Racing competing with its driver, Jonathan André. André started with weekend with a bang, winning the opening race, before concluding the final contest, this year held at night for the first time, just shy of the podium places (4^th).

Championship update

After the title was secured by Norbert Kiss, the only issue that remains unsettled in the 2023 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship is who will finish as runner-up. In Le Mans, Jochen Hahn collected more points than rivals Sascha Lenz and Antonio Albacete, thus strengthening his position in the fight for second place.
