A podium for André in the French Championship!

Nürburgring, Germany, July 18th 2023 - The 2023 Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship headed to Germany’s iconic Nürburgring track for round four this weekend.

The meeting provided the perfect opportunity for Norbert Kiss, truck racing’s indisputable leader, to further confirm his dominance in the typically changeable local weather conditions. The Hungarian defending champion needed no invitation to showcase his skills, grabbing pole position for the weekend’s first two races before then winning three out of the four races contested in Germany (races 1, 2 and 3). He only missed out on race 4 as local driver Jochen Hahn took top honours, cheered on by a huge crowd of loyal fans – more than 130,000 spectators attended the event, showing just how popular truck racing is in the country. This truly unique event also served as a round of the FFSA’s French Truck Racing Championship, meaning that Lion Truck Racing could enter its famous bright yellow Man truck for Jonathan André.

A promising first qualifying session (fifth) enabled him to secure a fine fifth place in race 1, before finishing seventh in race 2. The second qualifying session went even better. This time, he ended in third place, meaning he lined up on the second row of the starting grid for race 3. An opportunity that Jonathan André did not pass up as he went on to secure third place! A result that demonstrates the constant progress he has made since first getting behind the wheel last season. Meanwhile, he ended race 4 in seventh place. His next outing will be at Charade, on 2-3 September, for another round of the FFSA’s French Truck Racing Championship.
