The Perfect Kiss for Norbert at the Ring

Slovakia, June 14th 2023 - Round two of the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship was held at the Slovakia Ring this weekend.

Hungarian driver Norbert Kiss (Revesz Racing) produced a peerless performance in Slovakia this weekend, dominating both in the wet on Saturday and in drier conditions on Sunday throughout qualifying, both Super Poles and the four races held over the two days of racing. In his Man truck, Kiss showed no signs of weakness, even when he had to fight his way through the field during the two races held with a reverse order starting grid. Behind the irrepressible Hungarian, the fight for the podium places was a lot closer. Antonio Albacete (Team T Sport Bernau) had the final say in Race 1, finishing ahead of Sascha Lenz (SL Apollo Tyres Trucksport).

However, Lenz retaliated in Race 3 beating the Spanish driver to claim second place. German drivers Jochen Hahn and André Kursim took turns to finish second and third in Races 2 and 4. The Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship competitors have a short two-week break from racing to prepare for the third round of the season at the Poznan racetrack in Poland (24-25 June).

Championship update

After grabbing four race wins and 60 points this weekend, Norbert Kiss ended the Slovakia round in control of the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship. He is now fifteen points clear of Hans Jochen in second, with Antonio Albacete just two points back in third. Consistently present in the top 10 overall this weekend, Portuguese driver José Eduardo Rodrigues confirmed his status as leader in the Goodyear FIA ETRC Promoter's Cup.
