TotalEnergies and ALMS

The Asian Le Mans Series is becoming the reference Endurance racing series in Asia and the Series is also the perfect training ground for those wanting to step up the ACO ladder. The Asian Le Mans Series is a six round Championship featuring races of four hours in length, which takes place during winter time in Europe. As part of its partnership with the ACO, TotalEnergies is official fuel supplier.

A major partnership with the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO)

TotalEnergies had introduced its 100% certified sustainable fuel, Excellium Racing 100, during the 2024/2025 Asian Le Mans Series (ALMS) season. This next-generation fuel represented a major milestone in our pursuit of sustainability and the reduction of CO₂ emissions.

Developed to meet the high demands of Endurance racing, Excellium Racing 100 combined performance with environmental responsibility, incorporating fully renewable molecules. This approach was part of the continuity of initiatives implemented for the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the European Le Mans Series (ELMS), where the fuel had already demonstrated its efficiency and positive impact.

In line with new Endurance regulations aimed at combining performance and energy efficiency, Excellium Racing 100 represented a significant evolution for both manufacturers and drivers.

Building on four years of experience in racing conditions, TotalEnergies reached a new milestone with Excellium Racing Evo, a direct evolution of Excellium Racing 100, developed to address current and future challenges in motorsport. From 2026 onwards, Excellium Racing Evo became the official fuel of the FIA WEC — including the 24 Hours of Le Mans — as well as the European Le Mans Series and the Asian Le Mans Series, supplying all competitors on an equal basis.

Linked to 100% bio-circular feedstocks, based on a mass balance approach and certified ISCC PLUS*, Excellium Racing Evo was produced notably from recycled waste and residues (used oils, sugar beet pulp residues, wood waste from the paper industry), particularly at the La Mède biorefinery. It maintained uncompromised performance, compatible with a wide range of engine types, from naturally aspirated V12 engines to hybrid turbocharged V6 powertrains, while ensuring at least a 65% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to a fossil equivalent**.

A true demonstration of TotalEnergies’ expertise and pioneering spirit, Excellium Racing Evo reflected the shared values with the FIA and the ACO: safety, technological innovation, energy efficiency, hybridization, and low-carbon mobility. Validated by all stakeholders — manufacturers, teams, and regulatory bodies — this fuel illustrated the role of motorsport as a laboratory for innovation, delivering practical solutions transferable to the mobility of tomorrow.

* Excellium Racing Evo is a fuel linked to 100% bio-circular feedstocks, certified under the ISCC PLUS scheme, based on a mass balance approach.
** In accordance with the methodology defined by the European RED III Directive (2023/2413), Excellium Racing Evo enables at least a 65% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to a fossil equivalent.
