Paris, France, September 28th 2023 - A few weeks before the launch of the new Formula E season, DS Automobiles and its partner PENSKE AUTOSPORT have announced that they are extending their adventure with Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne – champion in 2018 and 2019 – as well as Belgian driver Stoffel Vandoorne, world champion in 2022.
- DS Automobiles and PENSKE AUTOSPORT are continuing their Formula E adventure with Jean-Eric Vergne, a two-time champion of the sport, and Stoffel Vandoorne, world champion in 2022, for season 10 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship
- At the wheel of the DS E-TENSE FE23, the talented duo – holders of three drivers' titles between them – will continue targeting podium finishes for the DS PENSKE team.
- The official test days at Valencia (Spain) from 24–27 October will mark the launch of the tenth Formula E season
Season 9 delivered mixed results but many valuable lessons. As a result, this unique line-up of Formula E champions has been reunited again with the French team. The objective is to return to the highest level of competition right from the very first race, which will take place in Mexico on January 13, 2024.
With a double title in 2019 and 2020, the Stellantis group's premium manufacturer is counting on the performance of the DS E-TENSE FE23 – of which the latest design will be presented on October 9 – and the whole team's expertise to secure further podium finishes.
A true technological laboratory, Formula E remains a key asset for DS Automobiles, which will be 100% electric from 2024.
Eugenio Franzetti, DS Performance Director:
“We had some high points last year with victory in India, podiums in Cape Town and Berlin, and pole position at Sao Paulo, but we also experienced some more difficult moments. Throughout all these highs and lows, there was one big constant: our drivers! They were consistently fast and always determined to deliver their very best, both on and off the track. For those reasons, we are very happy to continue this adventure along with our two champions. We’re the only team to be fielding two world champions, and using their talent as a base, we will build up the forthcoming season by paying particular attention to preparation and performance during each and every race weekend.”
