Accessibility Statement
This page aims to present our accessibility policy and define the general accessibility level observed on the website, in accordance with the applicable protocols and regulations.
What is digital accessibility?
Digital accessibility is a set of standards and best practices covering functional, graphic, technical and editorial aspects.
Digital media (websites, mobile applications, PDF files, etc.) must adhere to particular standards and best practices in order to be accessible by people with disabilities.
For example, an accessible website allows users to:
- Customize its display via the operating system and/or browser (enlarge or shrink characters, change typography, modify colors, turn off animations, etc.).
- Browse using assistive technologies such as text-to-speech or Braille.
- Navigate without having to use a mouse, just a keyboard, switches or a touchscreen.
- Watch videos and audio content with subtitles and/or transcriptions.
- And more.
Accessibility Policy
TotalEnergies is committed to make its websites (Internet, intranet, and extranet), its software packages, mobile applications and urban digital infrastructure accessible in accordance with Law No. 4 of January 9, 2004.
To this end, it undertakes the following strategy and actions:
The "competition.totalenergies.com" website was designed using the TotalEnergies web factory, which allows multiple websites to be created from a common structure and components.
To achieve the best possible result, accessibility was taken into account by the teams in charge of functional and graphic design as well as development throughout the creation of this web factory.
In addition, trainings on content accessibility were provided to contributors of sites created using the factory. This is completed by input assistance available from the back office and in the contribution guide published by the Webroom teams.
RGAA partial compliance declaration
This declaration applies to "competition.totalenergies.com" website.
Compliance status
France website with compliance rate
The website is partially compliant with RGAA version 4.1.2 (and therefore WCAG 2.1) as a result of the non-conformities listed below.
Test results
The audit of compliance with RGAA version 4.1.2 performed by Ideance in January 2026 on a sample of the website’s pages reveals that:
- The global compliance rate is 85.1%.
Calculated by dividing the number of compliant criteria by the number of applicable criteria. - The average compliance rate is 95.2%.
Calculated by averaging the compliance rates for each page.
Non-accessible contents
This website has been carefully developed to comply with accessibility standards.
However, some contents may be inaccessible to some users (using screen reader for example) and some components may not be usable as a result of the non-conformities listed below.
Non-conformities
- 4.2 - Certain video audio-descriptions or transcripts are irrelevant.
- 4.5 - Some videos do not provide audio-description.
- 6.1 - A few links are not explicit.
- 7.1 - Certain scripts are not compatible with assistive technologies.
- 8.6 - A few page titles are irrelevant.
- 8.7 - Some language changes are not indicated in the source code.
- 10.1 - A few contents are not formatted using stylesheets.
- 11.11 - Input assistance does not provide suggestions to help correct errors.
- 11.13 - Some input purposes cannot be deducted and thus used to automatically complete forms with user data.
- 12.6 - A few content blocks repeated across pages (such as header, navigation, search, main content, or footer) cannot be reached or bypassed.
Additional notes
Validity of the generated source code
The generated source code of the site pages is not fully valid according to the specified document type.
However, for the reasons mentioned below, the RGAA criterion 8.2 corresponding to this point has been marked as compliant.
Officially, WCAG criterion 4.1.1 relating to this RGAA criterion 8.2 has been removed from WCAG 2.2 and must be considered as still satisfied with regard to WCAG 2.1 as well as the European standard EN 301 549.
In practice, this criterion no longer has any benefit for accessibility for people with disabilities. Any accessibility problems arising from the invalidity of the generated source code are covered by other RGAA criteria.
Cookies consent manager
“Tealium” cookies consent manager was not fully audited during the process.
However, it has been checked its presence does not have an impact on either use or consultation of the website.
Wedia video player
The videos on the site are currently streamed via the Wedia video player. This player has numerous non-compliances that negatively impact the site's compliance rate and accessibility level, despite the efforts made by the "competition.totalenergies.com" team to make the site accessible.
This issue has been identified and is being monitored by the WebRoom teams. Work is underway to improve the compliance and accessibility of Wedia players in the long term.
Establishment of this Declaration
This declaration has been established in February 13th, 2026.

Improvement approach
This website is built on a site factory that is continuously improved to better meet accessibility requirements.
Technical developments have been made to improve digital accessibility since the audit. For example: the addition of an option to flag decorative images in the back office.
Developments are also in production and planned for early 2026 to improve digital accessibility on the site factory and therefore on the "competition.totalenergies.com" website. For example: Title level management.
Finally, other developments are also planned on the site factory to improve the accessibility of content on video, pagination, the appearance of links, opening links in a new window, etc.
