The rules

Qualifying

Due to the constraints of charging the batteries used in electric motorcycles, MotoE riders are only allowed two 20-minute free practice sessions before a qualifying session called E-Pole, organised as a flying lap. The grid is composed according to the times achieved during this session.

Races

The MotoE World Championship consists of eight rounds held at eight European circuits: Le Mans, Mugello, Sachsenring, Assen, Silverstone, Spielberg, Barcelona and Misano.
Each race is run over eight laps. Points are awarded to the top 15 finishers according to the following scale: 25, 20, 15, 13, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 point.

Technical regulations

Created in 2019 as a World Cup within the framework of the MotoGP Grand Prix, the MotoE World Championship is the first international competition organised using electric motorcycles. These are of a single type, manufactured by Italian manufacturer Ducati and made available to the MotoE teams via the promoter Dorna Sports.
